If you're using a "thinking emoji", then your emoji is on drugs.

That's a hair over $6,600 total. There are so many better cars you can buy for that sum.

Except I don’t have 6 grand sitting in my bank account right now . Time=Money.

Take out a personal loan that would total $6,600 in payments and buy a nice pre-owned 4th gen Legacy or something.

I would go for it if it checked out
. It’s not a GREAT car, no, but there is another Oppo who has one and quite likes it for a Daily. Plus - basic = less to fix and cheap parts if something does go wrong. It should also have warranty left.
Sucks that it’s an auto though. Would be far more peppy with a stick with a small displacement engine like that I would think.

That’s actually a pretty good idea.

I know these come in manual, idk if this particular one is.

I actually bought one a couple years ago, it pretty much paid for itself is gas savings alone. I would recommend it to any one that is patient enough to deal with its acceleration. All in all, I have no real complaints with mine, because all I bought it for was to be a cheep commuter car.

I’ve casually shopped around for them before. It seems there’s plenty of well maintained higher spec ones in the $5-6k range.

The Mission Mitsu website says ‘variable’ so guessing that particular one has the CVT.
Jason had done a review on the Mirage awhile back and didn’t find it completely terrible:

I will second this, the 5 speed is much better to drive than the CVT. Though the CVT will get you a few more MPGs.

5%?

I don’t have much credit history, so idk what rate I would get . Although I have USAA, and I know the military banks won’t fleece you like some places. I remember the bank on JBLM had a max rate of 7.5 % if you have absolutely awful history.
I have a good number, just not much evidence to back it up so to speak.

Mitsubishi is a little known brand anymore, but they have a very long warranty. 7 years and 100,000 miles. Out of any car to buy at this price, this might be it honestly, especially considering your past troubles.

It wont be a very fun car but it’ll reliable and cheap to run, it’s probably the car you need(or something like it).

Buy one with a stick, throw on coilovers to fix the awful suspension and enjoy a pretty reliable little car with one hell of a warranty.

This is your least worst idea yet

I think I’m just gonna go a month or two without a car and save up. I’ve seen the light of the viscous cycle of “$2k” cars. Although mean while I’ll keep an eye for any good deals, financed or cash.

Good idea. And 6k is a god budget with which finance. I mean, you can find a good auto IS300 all day every day for 6k....
